We Want Your Kids to Love Jesus and His Church!

That’s why we are committed to creating safe and fun environments where your children are taught biblically-faithful and life-giving truths about Jesus and his love for them. We provide relevant, age-appropriate kids classes and groups where our ultimate aim is to see a generation of children come to know God, be fascinated in wonder with who He is and learn how to make a difference in the world around them.

Safety is of Utmost Importance

All our volunteers go through an application process and are background checked before they begin serving.
They each have agreed to our safety policies and are passionate to help our children grow as followers of Jesus.
Our team is committed to knowing and walking in the best practices for kids of every age.

Getting your kids connected
can happen in 3 simple steps:

1. Fill Out A New Family Form

If you are new to NR, make your way to the Welcome table in our Foyer. There you can fill out the New Family Form. You will be given name tags for your children and a unique code for when it is time to pick your child up after service.

2. Check Your Kids Into Their Classes

Our Check-In Team will help new families find the right classroom. Returning families can check your kids in by putting your phone number into the Check-In computer, retrieve your check-in name tags and then head to your classroom.

3. Enjoy Service Knowing Your Kids Are Being Taken Care Of

Our Kids Serve Teams are an amazing group of people ready to minister and bless your kiddos. We can't wait to help them know and love Jesus more!

Frequently Asked Questions

It can be scary to walk into a new church and drop your kids off with people you don’t know. We get it. Here’s answers to some frequently asked questions.
How Does Check-In Work?

First Time Visit

When your family comes to New River, you will be greeted by our Welcome Team and they will help you get the check-in process started. All you have to do is fill out a form with some general information, get your name tags, and then the children will be ready to go to class! Our Kid’s Check-In Leader will walk you and your kids to the correct classroom. You’ll be greeted by our teachers who are ready for your kiddos!

Recurring Visits

Once you have visited, your information will be in our system. This allows you to come straight in and check your children in with our check-in system, no need to fill out any paperwork this time! Once your name tags have printed, put them on your child, and they will be ready to go to class!

What If My Kid Has an allergy?

We take your child’s health very seriously here. Please make the teacher aware of any allergy they may have.

In all classes, we serve veggie straws and cheddar goldfish. If your child is not able to have those, please feel free to bring a snack.

If your child has severe food allergies and you are concerned about a reaction, please feel to email our Kid’s Ministry Director, Meagan Norman at meagan@newriverfellowship.com before you visit. She will happily be able to assist you in any way possible.

What if my child is crying at drop-off?

At River Kids, we understand a new environment can be overwhelming for kids. Our volunteers follow a 10-minute cry rule. If a child is crying for 10 minutes or more, we will text parents immediately. If the crying is very intense and doesn’t seem to ease up, we will text the parent sooner.

Don’t be discouraged if your child cries and you have to come get them. Sometimes entering and being comfortable in a new environment will take time for your child. Please know that our volunteers are trained to help engage with your child and help them have the best experience possible.

Am i allowed to stay in class with my child?

In order to create a consistent and safe environment, we ask parents not stay in the class with your child. Each volunteer goes through an onboarding process and has had a background check. Allowing unchecked adults into the room that have not properly met those requirements is something we do not allow for the security and safety of our kids. We make safety a priority at New River and take every precaution to ensure the safety of your child.

Am i allowed to take my child into main service with me?

Absolutely! We value having kids in church worshipping with their families! If your child would like to come into the worship service, we are glad to have them there! Whether the child is younger or older, they are always welcome!

When Does The Pre-Teen Class Meet?

Pre-Teens are our 5th and 6th graders. They meet each Sunday after the worship part of our 10:45 AM service. All pre-teens are to go into service for worship, and once that is over, they are dismissed to their class.

Diaper Bags, Water Bottles, and Snacks..OH MY!

Please bring any item you need for your little one. We do ask that it is labeled, if you don’t have a label, let us know and we can get one for you!
